Assessment: How do schools submit their progress reviews and assessments for review?
Schools can submit progress reviews and assessments via ECT Manager. ECT Manager will send automatic reminders to the ECT's assigned induction tutor when assessment submission deadlines are coming up.

Assessment: Will part-time ECTs still have termly review forms to fill in each term over their longer induction? i.e. more forms in total?
Progress reviews happen on a termly basis for all ECTs, even if part-time. Formal assessments only happen at the mid and end points of induction, calculated using the contracted hours provided for the ECT on ECT Manager. This means that a progress review and an assessment may be due within the same term for part-time ECTs – in this case, only an assessment needs to be completed.

Evidence: How much evidence should ECTs be collecting against the Teachers' Standards?
No new documentation should be created just for the sake of evidencing progress against the Teachers’ Standards. Evidence of meeting the Teachers' Standards should only consist of existing documents, such as lesson plans or feedback from observations. More guidance on this can be found in our Guidance for Evidence Collection document under ‘resources’ and 'ECT evidence' once logged into ECT Manager.

Induction: Does an ECT who is employed as a teacher 3 days a week always have a longer induction time?
Part time ECTs will have a longer induction, serving the equivalent of two years. Inductions can be reduced after an ECT has served a period covering, but not equivalent to, two years if evidence that the ECT’s performance against the Teachers’ Standards is satisfactory. We would need to agree that a reduction is appropriate, so please contact us to discuss if your part time ECT is keen to reduce their induction to two years.
